Abstract

1,012,885. Rotating hoppers. DINGLERWERKE. A.G. Aug. 21, 1962 [Aug. 22, 1961], No. 32138/62. Heading B8S. [Also in Division F4] Plant for the continuous charging of shaft furnaces comprises a belt conveyer 1 feeding a rotatable hopper 4 having a vibratory discharge shoot 6 rotatable over bins 2a having outlet belts 7 leading to the furnace conveyer, each bin being associated with a weight-sensiive device 10 transmitting electric signals to known controlling apparatus by which the delivery rate &c. are controlled. The hopper 4 is mounted on a circular rail 9 and if none of the furnaces requires charging the shoot 6 may be rotated over a return belt 3. Several hoppers 4 are arranged in a row, so that batched materials may be supplied to a common furnace feed belt. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the hopper rail 9 is mounted on weight-sensitive devices operating a change-over device disposed ahead of the hopper 4 and by which material may be diverted to the return belt 3. Another modification, Fig. 4, has the hopper 4 mounted on weight-sensitive devices 10a which control the change-over device 8 as in the previous modification, and a weigh belt 2 feeds a pivoting belt 5 serving a number of parallel belts 2b mounted on weight-sensitive devices 10b. These latter control and stop the belts 2b.
