Abstract
686,752. Injectors. A.P.V. CO., Ltd. July, 11, 1950 [May 4, 1949], No. 11912/49. Class 71. In an injection heating device of the kind in which one or more jets of fluid heating medium e.g., steam are introduced into a stream of fluid to be heated, or vice versa, and comprising a pair of spaced metal plates 1, 2 Fig. 3 having one or more pairs of opposed openings, 5, 6, one of the plates e.g., plate 1 has each of its openings 5 pressed out to form an integral flange 7 which serves as a flow duct for one fluid and extends into co-operation with the opposed opening 6 to form with it a peripheral orifice 8 open to the space between the plates, to which is supplied the other fluid. The other plate 2 may also have each of its openings 6 pressed out to form a flange 7 in the same or opposite direction as the first flange to form with the latter the peripheral orifice 8. Working steam from an inlet 19 Fig. 4 and an annular chamber 17 passes to the space between the two plates 1, 2 and thence through orifices 8 to induce water from a duct 13 through the ducts formed by the flanges 7; the mixture of steam and water being discharged through a duct 12.
