Class 68(i) In a double or single wedge head planer for use in mining minerals, the arm 25B of each cutter 20 is mounted about a .vertical pivot positioned within a recess formed in the wedge head casing 13. The lateral setting of the cutter is varied by causing the arm to rotate about the pivot 31 by turning a screw 33 mounted in a journal 33a that is secured on the casing head; said screw passes through a nut 35 that is constrained by a guideway 36 on the cover plate 34 of the recess to move along the screw, the nut being pivotally connected to- :a toggle link 37 that in turn is pivotally connected to the cutter arm.
