Abstract

678,008. Mineral planers. MAVOR & COULSON, Ltd., and SPROUL, J. C. Dec. 5, 1950. [Aug. 18, 1949] No. 21467/49. Class 68 (i). In a wedge head planer, of the type described in Specification 674,028, a bevelled edge disc cutter 19 is mounted to rotate about a boss on a holder 18, it being held in position thereon by a plate 24 and bolts 25. On the disc are formed obliquely positioned teeth 26 which have a flat leading face 27 so that, as the disc is thrust against the buttock of the seam, it is caused to rotate by the resulting reaction thereon so that it removes the dust from the cutting zone. Specification 678,071 also is referred to.
