[Class 87 (i) In a pottery making machine a shaping arm 16 is rocked about a pivot 17 to co-operate with a rotary head 13 by an eccentric 27 coupled to the arm by links 29, 32 having a yielding spring connection 30 which allows of an arc of lost motion in the eccentric while the shaping tool engages the work. Movement of the arm 16 towards the work is limited by an adjustable screw stop 35. An edge scraper tool carried by an arm 50 pivoted at 47 to the arm 16 is controlled by a cam 40 secured to the pivot pin 33 of the link 32. The head 13 may be automatically stopped between successive operations of the arm 16. According to the first Provisional Specification, the cam 40 is operated by a further link attached to the link 29 or the housing 30.
