Abstract
658,888. Shaping wood. SVIT, NARODNI PODNIK. March 9, 1949, No. 6449. Convention date, March 16, 1948. [Class 145(i)] A device for the automatic machining of the periphery of shaped pieces of wood &c., i.e. shoe heels is constructed so that the work-piece, viz. shoe heel has a rotary movement only and the movement into the cut is effected by the tool in addition to its usual rotary movement. As shown a turn table 7 mounted on a fixed base 14 is provided with a clamp 2, 3 for the shoe heel the clamp part 3 being carried by a rotary shaft 5 carrying shaping cams 9, 10. The fixed base 14 carries a fixed part 15 upon which is mounted a slide 16 which carries a console 17 on which is mounted the cutting tool 31 by means of a shaft 29. Also mounted on the slide 16 is a slide 19 adjustable thereon by means of adjusting means 20, 21. The slide 19 has a console 18 on which is rotatably mounted, at 22, the copying device 23 the motions of which, caused by fingers 26, 27 in contact with the cams 9, 10, are transmitted to the tool 31 by arm 24, connecting rod 35, and arm 34. The shoe heel may, while still clamped, be moved to another working station by the turn table 7.
