621,973. Grinding and polishing. POWER JETS (RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT), Ltd., and GAVED, C. Nov. 15, 1946, No. 33922. [Class 60] [Also in Group XXII] A copying machine, particularly for making turbine blades, has a tracer and a cutter or polishing wheel carried on a fixed head, and a pattern and work piece carried together on a table which is movable towards the fixed head and is also movable in two directions transversely to the head. The head 4 may carry a tracer 5 and cutter 13 arranged vertically, as shown in Fig. 1, or a tracer 17 and polishing wheel 16 arranged horizontally, as shown in Fig. 2, The table 3 carrying the work piece 2 and pattern 1 is mounted on a hollow column 7 supported by a compression spring 8 on a main table 6 movable in two transverse directions. The pressure of the spring is adjustable by means not shown and can be relieved by compressing the spring by means of a lever 11 pivoted on one of the supports 10 for the column 7.
