Abstract

893,198. Woodworking cutters. SMITH, S. F., and GOWER, H. L. Jan. 18, 1961 [Oct. 19, 1959], No. 35354/59, Class 145. The serrated backing plate 32 of the rotary cutter head described in Specification 814,580 has a hole 41 of double cone form in the extension 35 so as to make point contact at 40 with the pin 37 screwed into the body of the cutter; angular adjustment of the cutter blade relative to the sides of the body is thus possible through about 30 degrees in each direction. The end of the extension is of spherical form to allow adequate clearance in the threaded bore for the pin 37.
