686,225. Control of motors. KONINKLIJKE MACHINEFABRIEK GEB. STORK & CO., N.V. June 27, 1951 [July 1, 1950], No. 15216/51. Class 38 (iii) An electric motor 1 which drives a mine ventilating fan having adjustable blades cannot be started or is stopped unless an electromagnetic brake 5 on the motor shaft is released, a contact 15 which is coupled to the brake being in the circuit of a release coil 13 for a main switch 2. The motor is de-energised and the brake applied if the bearings of the fan are overheated, a thermostatic switch 18 being provided for this purpose. A switch 16 prevents operation of the motor during adjustment of the fan blades.
