Abstract

685,557. Jib cranes; vehicle fittings. SPENGLER, H. Feb. 26, 1951. [Feb. 25, 1950] No. 4896/50. Class 78 (iv). Two spaced connected jibs 7 are pivotally mounted on the longer frame member 3 of a wheeled base carrying winches for raising and lowering the jibs and load. The load, e.g. a warp beam 30, is raised or lowered by cables 22 passing round head pulleys 25 and round a shaft 23 which is rotated through gearing by a shaft 18a. The jibs are luffed by a cable 12 connected to eyes 11 on the shaft 10 and passing round a shaft 13, rotated through gearing by a shaft 18. The shafts are supported in bearings on uprights 15, connected to the shorter base frame members 5. The load is deposited on brackets 31 on struts 32 connected to the base and supports 15.
