Class 38 (v) [Also in Group XIII] In order to delay the opening and closing of the contacts of a switch, controlling, for example, an immersion heater, a heat reservoir in the form of a brass block 18 is secured to a bimetal strip 14 which carries a contact 17 co-operating with a contact 20 on a flexible blade 21 having a backing strip 22. The blade 21 is adjustable by means of a screw 28 threaded in a fixed nut 29 and having a disc 35 engaging the strip 22 so as to vary the follow-up movement of contact 20. A screw 24 provides adjustment of the strip 14 from which it is insulated by a disc 25.
