Abstract
1304860 Thermal switches SATCHWELL CONTROLS Ltd 19 April 1971 [13 Jan 1970] 1584/70 Heading H1N A bimetal element 17 is wrapped around a post 16 which forms a pivot, one end of the bimetal carrying a moving contact 25 while the position of the other is adjustable to alter the operating temperature. A leaf spring 20 urges the bimetal into contact with the pivot post 16 and is extended to carry an anticipating resistor 46. The moving contact 25 is insulated from the bimetal; fixed contacts are mounted on blade springs 38 and are adjustable by screws 40. A magnet 41 is attached to the movable contact and co-operates with a fixed armature 42 to provide snap action. The position of the bimetal is preset by a screw 30 and manually adjustable by a cam 32. The cam is coupled to an operating knob which is fitted with adjustable stops 80 which co-operate with a fixed stop 90 to set the limits of adjustment.
