679,978. Junction boxes. WARTSILAYHTYMA O/Y WARTSILAKONCERNEN AKTIEBOLAG. Dec. 22,1949 [Dec. 22, 1948], No. 32846/49. Class 38 (i). A junction box suitable for a number of different wiring systems, comprises a one-piece box 17 of sheet or cast metal or mouldable material and having partitions 18, 19, 20 dividing the box into separate compartments, each having a slot 25 ... 28 at the bottom thereof opening into a throughway 21 ... 24 so that mains conduits 11 passed along the latter can be stopped short at an aperture to permit the leads to enter and leave the associated compartment. In Figs. 5, 7 the communicating apertures between the throughways and compartments extend across the box and are defined by brackets 12 on the partitions, to which brackets the coupling means for the conductors are fixed. Cable outlets 34 are also provided, the openings for which may initially be provided by " knock-out " panels in the box.
