Abstract

678,652. Removing wheels from shafts. CARMI, A. March 28, 1951, No. 7202/51. Class 61 (iii). A wheel puller comprises a yoke 4 having a central tapped hole, into which a bolt 5 is screwed, and two clearance holes 6 through which screwed spindles 7 having heads 8 are inserted. In use, the yoke is applied to the end face of the shaft 2 and the spindles screwed into tapped holes in the wheel 1, the bolt 5 being then tightened to draw the wheel towards the end of the shaft. The tapped holes may be located in the hub 3 or in the spokes or rim of the wheel. The apertures in the yoke may be oblong slots.
