Removing wheels and other articles from shafts. - A device-for withdrawing hubs from shafts comprises a cylindrical body 1 accommodating a slidable abutment 6 for engaging the end of the shaft 7, a cam lever operating device 3 pivoted at 4 to the body and a flange like member 8 threaded on the body and carrying arms 9 having means at their free ends for connecting them to the hub of a wheel. The arms 9 preferably two in number and disposed parallel or at symmetrical angles to the tool axis are adjustably secured to the flange member 8 by bolts 17 and have apertured plates 11 at their free ends to receive the bolts 12 of the wheel hub flange; instead of the bolt holes 16 in the member 8 and apertures in the end plates 11, these parts may be provided with concentric, eccentric or radial slots to enable the device to be applied to wheels of various sizes. Plates 11<a> on the inner ends of the arms 9 are slotted to take the bolts 17. The end plates 11 are also adapted to receive studs 13, Fig. 2, on plates 14 having V-shaped inner edges 15 for gripping the periphery of a grooved hub 10<a>. Specification 255,365 is referred to.
