677,802. Optical systems. VERKAUFSAKT. - GES. H. WILD'S GEODATISCHE, INSTRUMENTE. Sept. 5, 1950 [Sept. 20. 1949], No. 21893/50. Class 97 (i). An eye-piece consisting of at least four airseparated lens components of which the last (nearest the eye) is a meniscus concave towards the eye and the first component (next to the field diaphragm) contains a diverging cemented surface convex towards the eye and with a radius of curvature not exceeding 0.75 of the diameter of the field diaphragm is characterized in that the last component has a diverging cemented surface concave towards the eye of which the radius of curvature is between 0.35 and 0.8 times the radius of curvature of the first surface of this component. The refractive index of the glass in front of the cemented surface of the last component may be greater than that behind the surface (towards the eye) by at least 0.04. Numerical data are given for three examples of the eye-piece shown; the objective is shown by dotted lines, and forms a real image at B where the field diaphragm is located.
