Abstract
723,544. Optical objectives. ZEISS-OPTON OPTI8 WERKE OBERKOCHEN GES. Nov. 19, 1951 [Nov. 25, 1950], No. 27053/51. Class 97 (1). The objective consists of a front simple positive lens 1 followed by a dispersing meniscus doublet 2 convex towards the front with its rear surface having a radius of curvature less than 0.33 of the focal length F and consisting of a positive element cemented at its rear to a negative element of higher refractive index, a positive doublet 3 concave towards the front and consisting of a negative lens cemented to a positive lens of higher refractive index with the cemented surface convex towards the front, and by a dispersing meniscus doublet 4 which is concave towards the front and is made up of a positive lens cemented to a negative lens of lower refractive index with the cemented surface convex towards the rear and having a radius of curvature less than 0.9 of the radius of the front surface of this component. The refractive index difference in the fourth component may amount to 0.10. Preferably also the distance from the front surface of the third component to the rear surface of the objective lies between 0.3 F and 0.66 F and the axial thickness of the second component is between 0.08 and 0.18 F.
