Abstract

676,326. Drawer runners. ALDAM & CO., Ltd., E. H. Dec. 13, 1950. [Feb. 21, 1950] No. 4384/50. Class 52 (i). [Also in Groups X and XXXIV] A metal track for sliding doors, cabinet doors, &c., of the type having a channel 1 for runners 2, a back plate 4, and a top flange 5 is characterised in that the front edge 6 of the flange 5 is located inwardly of, or substantially in vertical alignment with, a vertical plane passing through the outer lip 10 of the flange 1, and holes 8 in the flange 5 for receiving screws 7 are inclined so that the heads of the screws are easily engaged by a screwdriver 9* when the track is being fixed e.g. to the lintel of a door frame. When the track is extruded the seatings for the screws are preferably formed as a continuous projection on the underside of the flange 5, the seatings being formed as shown in Fig. 2 during the forming of a rolled channel or, as separate projections pressed up after a channel has been rolled. Screws 11 passing through the back plate may provide additional support for the track.
