Abstract

676,131. Valves. FLIGHT REFUELLING, Ltd. Jan. 1, 1951 [Feb. 6, 1950], No. 3031/50. Class 135. A pressure relief valve, e.g. for an aircraft fuel tank, comprises a base 10 fixed to the tank wall 11 and having a seat 14 for a closure member 17 urged to the seat by two springs 42 acting between the ends of two levers 36, pivoted to the valve stem and to pillars 34 extending from the base and so shaped that as the member moves to the open position, the closing force decreases. The closure member comprises a disc 18 with a stem 22 and backed by a disc 19 having a hollow stem 23 surrounding the stem 22, a washer 21 being clamped between the discs.
