In a posting or card index tray a having loose card-supporting plates c located by lugs c' engaging in slots or grooves of the base of the tray, the plates c can be inserted parallel to either the longer or shorter edge of the tray. As shown in Fig. 3, the slots are cross-shaped and those of each row are in staggered disposition in relation to those in each adjacent row. A plate which has lugs to fit the slots of row f will fit row f<SP>1</SP> on being reversed.
