Abstract

675,833. Stoppers. WINGFOOT CORPORATION. Jan. 3, 1951 [July 28, 1950], No. 260/51. Class 125(iii) A bottle stopper 2 of flexible impervious material has a body portion with an outer somewhat cylindrical wall 3e and circumferentially extending ribs 6, 7, on the outer surface thereof of which the upper ribs 6 are continuous and the lower ribs 7 are discontinuous. The body portion is hollow and the lower part is slightly tapered, a thickened rim 9 reinforcing the upper part. The gaps in the ribs 7 form passages 8 through which steam &c. may escape when the stopper is inserted into the neck of the vessel.
