Abstract

675,125. Seats. CHAPMAN, Ltd., A. W. Dec. 4, 1950. [Jan. 23, 1950] No. 1776/50. Class 52 (ii). A vehicle slidable seat is provided with a back rest which is pivoted between its upper and lower ends at a fixed point relatively to the support and has a pivoted connection between its lower end and the seat such that as the seat is slid the back rest inclination is varied without varying the inclination of the seat. As shown the seat 1 slides on the support by means of interengaging slide members 3 and is pivoted by means of a link 8 to the lower end of the back rest 7 which is pivoted at 14 to the side members 13 of the support. Any locking arrangement, is provided to lock the seat and back in its adjusted position. In place of the link 8 interconnecting the back rest and the seat an inward projection at each side such as 10 on either the seat or back rest may engage an arcuate slot on the other member.
