Abstract

674,861. Hammer mills. SANDOR, B. T. Dec. 7, 1949 [Dec. 7, 1948], No. 31627/48. Class 59 A mill of the kind comprising hammers revolving within a part cylindrical screen and wherein the whole of the ground material passes through said screen with the aid of the air pressure created by the revolving hammers is characterized by a bagging device for feeding the ground material to one or more sacks, said bagging device having a number of air outlet openings on which are secured air filters which relieve the air pressure therein whilst not allowing passage of the ground material. As shown, material fed down the shoot 2 is ground by the hammers 5, and, after treatment, passes through the screen 3 and is directed by baffles 9 and the pivoted shutter 10 into one or other of the bags 12 air leaving the mill through an outlet 13 to which is fitted a porous bag-like filter 14. Means may be provided for the elimination of foreign bodies of a higher specific gravity than the material being treated.
