Class 78 (v) [Also in Groups XXIX and XXXVII] The liquid controller or starter of an electrically driven winch or the like, having a hydraulically operated brake system is actuated by hydraulic apparatus utilising the hydraulic liquid of the brake system. The supply of oil under pressure from the accumulator of the brake system to, and the exhaust from, the ends of a cylinder 1, having a double acting piston 2 operating the dippers 5 of a liquid controller for the electric motor, is regulated by a control valve 10 connected to an operating lever 17, which may be automatically, e.g. by a cam moved by the engine, or manually actuated. A floating lever follow-up linkage 15 ensures correspondence between the positions of the lever 17 and the piston.
