674,473. Cleaning dust-laden gases. WAAGNER-BIRO AKT.-GES. June 6, 1950. [June 21, 1949], No. 14100/50. Class 8 (ii) In a plant for separating dust from gas comprising a preliminary separator, formed by a crude gas chamber 1 and a dust bin 5, and a final separator e.g., cyclones 4 separated from the preliminary separator by a louvre wall 2, the lower end of the latter adjoins an opening 15 in a partition 16 between the chamber 1 and the bin 5 so that substantially all the gas to be cleaned traverses the louvres. The louvre boards are enamelled for protection against wear and may be hinged intermediate their lengths and be movable in sets so as to shake deposited dust therefrom. Alternatively the boards are curved so that the slits comprise elongated nozzles.
