Abstract

673,134. Centrifugal-machines. PERRY, T. J. Nov. 28, 1950 [Dec. 2, 1949], No. 30999/49. Class 23 Grain is cleaned by feeding it to the upper surface of an inverted conical spinner plate 11 over which surface a current of air flows from the outer periphery towards the centre. The plate is rotated by a pulley 13 and is contained in a housing 10 having outlets 18, 19 for grain and chaff respectively. The grain to be cleaned is supplied by a hopper 14 on which is adjustably supported a non-rotary plate 17. Air is drawn through a conical wire screen 15 by a fan attached to the outlet 19. The spinner rotates at 300 r.p.m.
