673,025. Driving-gear. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. Dec. 15, 1950 [Dec. 20, 1949], No. 32602/49. Class 7(ii) [Also in Group XXVI] In a group of I.C. engines 1 operating on a common load each engine has its own lubricating oil system and drives the common output shaft 6 through a fluid coupling 3 and a worm 4 and wheel 5 and may be disconnected therefrom by tripping the fluid coupling 3. The trip lever 94 is maintained in the open position by lubricating oil pressure on a spring-loaded piston 91 and is closed either automatically when the lubricating oil pressure falls below a certain value (see Group XXVI) or at will by closing a cock 80.
