673,009. Loud-speakers. WEST, R. L. Nov. 7, 1950 [Nov. 8, 1949], No. 28638/49. Class 40 (iv)..[Also in Group XXXVIII] A loudspeaker cabinet stands in the corner of a room with the loud-speaker facing the corner and directed .slightly upwards so that the centre line of the speaker when reflected from the corner just clears the top of the cabinet, whereby the high frequencies are diffused. The loud-speaker is loaded by a bass chamber 18 such as is described in Specification 447,749, and to avoid resonance, the cabinet is spaced from the walls either by the skirting or by distancepieces secured to the cabinet. Alternatively, a reflector simulating a corner may be secured to the cabinet.
