672,657. Gauging screw threads. LEINO, O. V. Dec. 1, 1950 [Dec: 7, 1949], No. 29527/50. Class 106 (ii). A gauging device for screw threads is characterized in that it comprises three or more measurement wires joined together so that the free ends of the wires can be placed on the screw thread to be measured, after which a known type of gauge is applied. Figs. 1, 2 and 3 show the three wires 2, 3, 4, mounted in a holder 1, alternatively the holder 1 may be dispensed with, and the wires joined together at one end. A gauge 7 is applied over the wires as shown in Fig. 4. The wires may be flexibly mounted by reducing or flattening a portion of each wire or by means of a spring blade, so as to allow lateral displacement to line up with the threads. The supporting means 1 may be made in more than one part and if so made, the wires may be mounted with one in one part and the remaining two in another part, with the parts joined together by elastic means such as a steel wire or spring.
