672,318. Casks. BENSON, E. H. Jan. 9, 1950, No. 523/50. Class 21 The bunghole of a metal cask is reinforced by a thick block welded to the cask around the bunghole periphery. The cask wall 12 may have a flange 16 passing through the block and secured thereto by a weld 18 or the flange may extend only part way through, the weld being contained in a groove. Alternatively the flange is dispensed with and the bunghole periphery welded directly to the cask wall. The outer periphery of the block is welded to the cask wall. The block includes portions 32 forming part of the rolling rings.
