319,409. Todd, A. T., Todd, M., and Whitfield, D. B. R. June 22, 1928. Divided on 319,402. Heads; hoops and rings; metal casks.-The lid or cover 1 of a metal drum or keg having a wide aperture, is secured by an expanding ring 7 engaging a groove, a bead, or projections in the flange of the drum. The ring holds the lid in sealing contact with a washer or packing 6 in a capped extension 5 in the wall of the drum. The capped extension may be either integral with or attached to the flange. The sealing washer may be carried in a groove in the edge of the lid.
