Abstract

675,194. Casks. BENSON, E. H. Jan. 20, 1949, No. 1654/49. Class 21 A bung-hole in the side of a cask is formed by an out-turned integral flange 24 reinforced by-a block 18 secured to the cask wall and the flange. The cask comprises two cup-shaped members welded together, the ends being depressed and dished to form chimes. The chimes have radial .grooves 32 and at one end are joined by a diametral channel 36. Rolling beads 16 are flattened in the region of the block 18 Which is shaped to continue their contour. Specification 675,258 is referred to.
