Abstract

437,295.. Barrels. SCHMIDT, H. A., 657, Stimson Avenue, Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A. April 27, 1934, No. 12750. [Class 21] A barrel formed e.g. by moulding a material consisting of finely divided particles such as sawdust with a liquid cement under a pressure of two to twentyfive thousand pounds comprises an inner section 14 with inclined bottom wall 15 and a removable end section 16 with a centring projection 17, ribs 18, 19 being cemented intc grooves 11, 12, 13, on an outer section 1, which has circumferential beads 3 and a shoulder 8 for receiving the head 9. The heads 9, 16 and bushings 26, 27 for a tap and a bung respectively, are cemented in place. Metal reinforcing bands 21, 24 reinforce the rims.
