Metal drums.-The end of a metal drum, barrel &c. is reinforced by turning over the rim of the cylindrical body a as shown in Fig. 1, or the rim of the head b as shown in Fig. 2 to form a hollow beading, the two parts being united by welding so as to leave the edge of the curled part free. A further reinforcement may be effected by a separate ring f, Fig. 3.
