Abstract

647,324. Casks. JOSEPH, Ltd., N. C., and JOSEPH, B. C. Aug. 19, 1948, No. 21872. [Class 21] A metal cask is formed by welding together, cup-shaped end pieces 1, 2 the mouths of which are expanded outwardly so that a portion of enlarged diameter girdles the cask. The enlarged portion is enclosed by a ring 12 and rings 10 are secured to the cask ends by expanding the cask wall outwardly into their channel section. The cask wall may be thickened by welding in the vicinity of bung holes 13, 14. The cask end walls may be formed separately and welded to the annular body portions.
