640,429. Making casks &c. SANKEY & SONS, Ltd., J., and HELDEN, W. VAN. May 7, 1948, No. 12553. [Class 83 (ii)] [Also in Group XVII] A shell 15 surrounding a welded receptacle 1 made, e.g., of stainless steel or aluminium, for liquids, is formed by welding tapered, sheetmetal, halves to each other and to a T-ring 16. Reinforcing rings 17 of channel-section &c. are also welded to the shell, and its ends are welded to foot-rings 12 which fit over the ends of the receptacle 2. The T-ring 16 may be formed by folding strip-metal about its centre line and flanging its outer edges, or " L " or " I "-section rings may be used.
