Abstract
669,596. Transformers. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL, Ltd. July 11, 1949 [July 14, 1948], No. 18329/49. Class 38 (ii). In a transformer for transmitting radar impulses comprising a magnetic core 1 of high-frequency material such as ferrite which core carries primary and secondary windings 2, 3, a permanent magnet 4 is so arranged that it produces a magnetic field in the core tending to saturate the core in the direction opposed to the field produced by the pulses. The magnetization produced by the primary impulses may vary from - Bm to + Bm (Fig. 2), the range being thus doubled by the permanent magnet. A conducting plate 5 screens the high-frequency field from the permanent magnet. Specification 669,571 is referred to.
