669,533. Lubricating. SOC. POUR LA MISE EN VALEUR DES BREVETS ET PROCEDES D'AEROSOLATION DU DOCTEUR DAUTREBANDE EURATMOS. Nov. 28, 1946 [Nov. 30, 1945], No. 35370/46. Class 12 (iii). In the lubrication of a pneumatic drill or like tool wherein the pressure air is charged with lubricant, means are provided for the atomization of a liquid lubricant, by means of a compressed gas, to obtain a stable suspension of lubricant-in-air, before its introduction into the pressure air. As shown, lubricant in a container 13 is atomized by an air jet device 15 supplied with compressed air via a pipe 12 and into which the lubricant rises by a pipe 16, the resulting cloud of atomized lubricant being directed against an inclined wall 17 of an outlet tube 18, where a film of liquid thereon acts to remove liquid particles from the suspension. A block 20 formed with spaced laminations further serves to remove liquid particles before the suspension passes via a pipe 4<SP>1</SP> to the air line 4 of a pneumatic tool to be lubricated. A sealed supply tank 24 communicating via a pipe 23 to a fixed pipe 21 in the container 13 acts as a bird fountain to maintain a constant level of lubricant therein. In an alternative arrangement the apparatus may be inserted directly in the air line of a tool to be lubricated. Specification 666,393, [Group XXIX], is referred to.
