[Class 12 (iii)] [Also in Group XXIX] A gas meter is lubricated by oil from time to time forced into an externally projecting end c of a pipe b after removal of a cap d there being apertures or nozzles n, o, p in such pipe respectively to direct oil jets to the flag rods e, f, whence oil flows down into cups q surrounding the usual stuffing boxes for the flag rods and to the index-pointer gearing g, while an end nozzle supplies a trough h from which oil is siphoned by tube-supported wicks j to supply the slide valves s, t by engaging the tops thereof.
