Abstract
669,232. Making hollow-ware. DALE, W. N. June 22, 1950 [May 26, 1950], No. 13334/50. Class 83 (ii). In a method of making a shade fitting over the top of an aquarium tank by bending up a sheet metal blank comprising a top wall 1 and integral side wall forming portions 2-5, integral flanges 6a, on the side wall forming portions 2-5, are folded upon themselves to give rigidity to the projecting ends of these flanges are inserted one within the-other and riveted or welded together. Lips 10 may be formed integral with the edge of the flanges 6 for returning condensate formed on the inside of the shade back into the tank and flaps 8 may be provided at the ends of the side walls for riveting or welding at the corners. One of the side walls 5 is vertical and has apertures for fixing an electric lamp holder and for ventilation. The other three side walls are sloping so that the shades may be stacked one within the other for storage &c.
