The sleeve, which is displaceable with the tube, and which may have a single port to give a continuous fluid discharge over a predetermined angular movement of the tube or a number of ports 18 communicating successively with. the tube port to afford an intermittent fluid discharge, may be prevented from rotating with the tube by a pin 21 secured to the casing a bearing on one of the sleeve faces 22 ; alternatively, longitudinal guides may be used. In the withdrawn position of the tube fluid flow is cut off by a valve member 8 engaging a seat 11. The sleeve may have a lost motion connection between a collar 19 and an abutment 20 so that the tube is advanced from its withdrawn position a predetermined distance before fluid is admitted to the tube.
