Abstract

1,269,214. Spray-producers. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. 1 July, 1969 [14 Nov., 1968], No. 54069/68. Heading B2F. [Also in Division F4] A flat spray of liquid is produced by a sprayer consisting essentially of a slot 12, Fig. 1, extending across the end of conduit 10, a fine tube 13 situated in a drilling intersecting the slot, a pair of entry slots 15 into the tube and a transverse discharge slot 14. The ends of the tube are pinched together- and welded. The conduit is secured to a burner body 17, Fig. 3, which has a fluid inlet 18 incorporating a strainer 19. Jets of air from diametrically opposed ports 21 form a flat air flow pattern of shape and orientation similar to that of the liquid spray. The burner head is installed in the double wall 25, 26, Fig. 5, of a gas turbine engine combustion chamber.
