666,647. Picking - motions for looms. BEAN, A. M. April 26, 1949, No. 11058/49. Class 142(iii) In a positive picking mechanism for a loom, the shuttle 20 is handed across by spring claws 17, 18, mounted on rods 15 reciprocating between the sheds. As the claws meet at the medial line of the loom, outwardly turned lips 19 of claws 17 ride under those of claws 18 so that the shuttle is gripped by the claws 17. The reverse process occurs as the claws meet again the shuttle being transferred back from claws 17 to 18. The rods are each mounted on sliding head brackets which are linked to cranks of a shaft driven from the loom.
