Class 142(ii) A device for beating up the weft in a circular loom comprises arm 1, arranged to extend from and rotate about the central shaft of the loom, and carrying a housing 10 containing a number of individually operable bars 6 which are projected and retracted from between the warp threads as the shaft revolves and the housing rotates thereby engaging and beating up the weft. The housing is positively rotated by gearing. A guideway 9 is provided on the end of the arm 1 in which butts 8 on the bars 6 engage and derive their reciprocating motion.
