Abstract
642,985. Shuttleless small ware looms. CLUTSOM & KEMP, Ltd., and CLUTSOM, C. April 20, 1948, No. 10893. [Classes 142(ii) and 142(iii)] In a loom having two weft inserting arms 5 operating alternately from opposite edges of the fabric, the pivots of the arms are inclined, so that each arm carries its weft under the selvedge knitting needle 10 at the same edge of the fabric and over the knitting needle at the opposite edge, the latter needle rising to take the loop of weft. The arms 5 and needles 10 are actuated by cams which are individually adjustable about the camshaft. A beat-up reed is mounted on a shaft which is oscillated by a crank, and the weft passes to the arms 5 through guides projecting from the reed holder. Specification 478,529 is referred to.
