Class 97 (iii). [Also in Group XXXIII] An indicator for a gyrovertical comprises a spherical shell 6 having equatorial horizon lines and co-operating with a fixed aircraft symbol 11, the shell 6 being provided with a gear 5 in mesh with an identical gear 4 carried by the rotor casing 2 so that the shell follows the gyro. scope in inclination about the lateral axis to the same degree and in the correct sense. By mounting the shell 6 and the rotor casing 2 in a common forked gimbal 3, the shell also follows the inclinations of the gyro about the longitudinal axis.
