Abstract

666,458. Stoppers &c. ROSS PRODUCTS, Ltd. Sept. 22, 1950. [Nov. 1, 1949] No. 27984/49. Class 125(iii). A bottle closure with a disc valve consists of a cap A having a threaded skirt 1, an outlet opening 3 with spout 5 and an air vent 4. and a washer B having holes 11, 12 and a projection 13 extending through an opening 8 in the cap, the the holes 11, 12 being so spaced that rotation of the washer B brings them into register with apertures 3, 4 rotation in the opposite sense causing the washer to close the said apertures 3, 4. The washer B is not attached to the cap and may be held against movement to seal the bottle by screwing the cap A tightly home. A groove 7 connects openings 3, 4 to allow liquid spilled through the vent 4 to return to the bottle and the washer B has an annular sealing surface 14.
