Abstract

The invention comprises a black trioazo dyestuff for leather of the formula <FORM:0666026/IV (c)/1> and the manufacture thereof by coupling tetrazotized 4 : 41-diaminostilbene with an equimolecular proportion of 1 : 8-aminonaphthol-3 : 6-disulphonic acid in acid medium, coupling the resulting diazoazo compound with diazotized sulphanilic acid in alkaline medium, and finally coupling the diazodioazo compound so obtained with an equimolecular proportion of m-aminophenol in alkaline medium. A detailed example is given.
