Abstract

665,450. Magnetrons. DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE, DIRECTOR OF THE OFFICE OF TECHNICAL SERVICES OF. Feb. 27, 1948 [Jan. 17, 1946], No. 3981/48. Class 39 (i). A magnetron having a ring of interleaving anode posts 161, 17<SP>1</SP> connected alternately to opposing surfaces 12, 13 of a cavity resonator 10, is tuned by relative motion of the opposing surfaces for relative longitudinal adjustment of adjacent anode posts. One or both opposing surfaces 12, 13 may comprise flexible diaphragms. As shown, the free ends of the anode posts terminate in tabs 20, but they may terminate in annular plates. Each annular plate is perforated to allow clearance for the anode posts attached to the opposite plate.
