Class 123(i) The filling or emptying pipe of a liquid fuel &c. tank has an associated condenser so arranged that upon completion of the filling or emptying operation, the condenser will be immersed in or will emerge from the liquid, the resulting change in capacity being caused to operate, for example, a relay controlling an electric motor driving the liquid discharge or suction pump. The relay may also actuate warning lamps or bells. If the liquid is conductive the electrodes of the condenser are insulated; alternatively one of the electrodes is constituted by the liquid itself.
